Western Digital says hackers stole information in ‘community safety’ breach

Knowledge storage big Western Digital has confirmed that hackers exfiltrated information from its programs throughout a “community safety incident” final week.

The California-based firm stated in a statement on Monday that an unauthorized third occasion gained entry to “a quantity” of its inside programs on March 26. Western Digital hasn’t confirmed the character of the incident or revealed the way it was compromised, however its assertion suggests the incident could also be linked to ransomware.
